- Preschool infoHi! My family and i are moving to Fox Mill in mid-August and I need to find a preschool for my 4 year old for the fall. Does anyone have a recommendation? I'm looking for a play based program but I'm not too picky.
Thanks,
Trish Atkins - Car Broken IntoI wanted to alert the neighborhood to the fact that my car (which was in my driveway) was broken into on Wednesday evening 7/15/09. Nothing of significance was taken, and may have been kids fooling around, but the car was disheveled. The incidence was reported to FFC police. If you noticed any strange activity this evening or any others please notify the police. Also, be sure to keep your car doors locked and your eyes open for suspicious activity.
- Guardian Protection ServicesDear Sir or Madam:
I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Kiran V. Subbarao and I am a graduate of George Mason University with a B.S. in Administration of Justice. I am currently a Life Safety Consultant for Guardian Protection Services, one of the top five residential security companies in the country. We provide monitored Burglary and Fire Protection to over 200,000 customers in the U.S. In addition, we are the largest retailer of Honeywell and First Alert Products in the country.
I believe strongly in developing a partnership between local police departments, community residents, and our company in order to promote safer neighborhoods.
I take great pride in the work that I do. I spend a lot of time working with local business owners, Neighborhood Watch Groups, HOA's, and local government agencies to protect our communities from burglary, fire, or medical emergencies.
I have been a resident of Northern Virginia for the past thirteen years, and would like to foster a relationship with your organization in order to keep the residents of your community safe.
I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how Guardian Protection Services can help to protect the residents of your community.

Coldwell - Redistricting Meeting tonight is at OAKTON HSSee this link -- tonight's meeting is at Oakton -not South Lakes! http://www.fcps.edu/news/boundary.htm
- Vandalism In the NeighborhoodI have heard from neighbors that we have had Christmas and other decoration torn down or taken apart. I think that it is important that we talk with our children and remind them that this is wrong and cost money to the homeowner. Some times just a quick talk will help them if they get with a group of children that want to destroy something. It is very important to look out for one another and our properties. Please if you see anything or know anything tell your parents so that they can talk to the other parents I am sure that you don't want your friends to get into bigger trouble later. Thanks so much
- Urgent Boundary updateIf you are not concerned about the possible boundary change for Fox Mill, you should be. Today FCPS released a new option ,and this one again has Fox Mill attending South Lakes. Please let your voice be heard by attending the next meeting on December 19th or send an email to FCPS and let them know that those two options are not acceptable. http://www.fcps.edu/fts/planning/westcoboundary/index.htm

Luminaries Volunteers Needed please call John Schmid at 703 860-3409. We will need assistance assembling and lighting the luminaries that will be placed at the entrances and along the common areas on Christmas Eve. The Luminaries are lighted starting at 4 pm. Lets make our neighborhood shine on December 23rd. Look on the Calendar to find the dates and times to pick up your Luminaries. You can't beat the price only $6.00 for a package of 10 candles and bags which is sufficient for a normal sized lot. Thanks for all your help. - Redistricting of our high school boundariesI would like to encourage everyone to attend the next boundary meeting which is scheduled for December 19th, 7:30pm @ Oakton High School to voice their opinion and concerns with the boundary changes they are suggesting. There are 4 possible scenarios and one of them is to have ALL of the Fox Mill area attend South Lakes. Not only is this not acceptable for our children, it will cause our property values to decrease no longer having Oakton as our High School. Again, I can not emphasize enough if either of the two concern you please attend the meeting on December 19th.

703-391-5008 - Redistricting of our high school boundariesI would recommend those of you that are not in favor of the redistricting to visit the site: stoprd-pac.org. This is a site that will assist you in which school board members to vote for on Election Day. They are endorsing these candidates because the current school board members are in favor of the redistricting plan and our only hope may be to vote them out. So please take a moment to visit their site and help to possibly prevent the redistricting from happening.
- When is trick or treating? Can anyone give me specific info about neighborhood trick or treating? Schedule, date, procedures, etc? We are new to Fox Mill and were wondering when the neighborhood usually celebrates the holiday. Thanks in advance for any details and have a great day!
